Non-alcoholic dark beer

The concept of dark beer originated in England, where it was already brewed in the 17th century. The reason these beers have a darker colour is mainly due to the type of malt used during the production process. However, that dark colour is not the only difference. Dark beer is usually much less bitter than lager; often it even has a rather sweet taste. It is also considered a typical autumn beer. Do you want to drink your dark beer alcohol-free this autumn? You can, because at Deliciousdrinksshop you can easily order alcohol-free dark beer online!

Dark beer without alcohol

Anyone who has already oriented themselves a bit on non-alcoholic beer may already have noticed: you mainly come across alcohol-free lagers and blond beers. This is not surprising, because alcohol-free dark beers are relatively new. The first non-alcoholic dark beers from Belgian brewers, including La Trappe Nillis 0.0%, were launched only a few years ago. In 2020, Grolsch was the first Dutch brewer to launch an alcohol-free dark beer. Gradually, more and more brewers are adding an alcohol-free dark beer to their range.

How is alcohol-free dark beer made?

Thanks to the growing popularity of alcohol-free beer, many new brewing processes have been developed in recent years, which make it possible to brew beer without alcohol. This process is mainly used for the 'newer' alcohol-free dark beers. There are also breweries that prefer to do it the old-fashioned way, namely by taking one of their popular existing beers and extracting the alcohol from it. Leffe Bruin 0.0%, for example, is basically just the well-known Leffe Bruin beer - only the alcohol has been removed.
