When the Ferrer de Morais and Cândido Carneiro families started producing a high-quality distillate from sugar cane in the northeast of Brazil in 1938, they unknowingly laid the foundations for PITÙ's global success.
When searching for a name, they quickly agreed on "PITÚ". PITÚ is a freshwater crab native to several rivers in Brazil.
Today, PITÚ is produced at the Engarrafamento PITÚ distillery under state-of-the-art conditions and strict quality control. Brazilians prefer to drink PITÚ pure, as a batida or as a caipirinha. Perhaps this explains the South American fire in Brazilians' blood. The Brazilian enthusiasm also spreads to Germany - be it through samba music or the popular drink caipirinha. PITÚ is simply part of a lively Brazilian evening.
